Tacoma Titans are the 2026 NWBA DIII Champions!

Join us in celebrating the Tacoma Titans! After an incredible run at the 2026 National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Adult National Championships, the Titans claimed the Division III national title, bringing home a huge win for Rainier Adaptive Sports and the Tacoma community.

The tournament took place March 27–29 in West Monroe, Louisiana, where teams from across the country came together to compete for a national championship. Entering the tournament as the No. 10 seed, the Titans faced tough competition and rose to the challenge, proving that hard work, determination, and trust in one another can take a team a long way.

A Championship Run to Remember

The road to the title required the Titans to bring their best game. They earned important wins throughout the tournament, including victories over the LWSRA Hawks, Austin Rec’ers, and San Antonio ParaSport Spurs, before advancing to the championship matchup against the No. 4-seeded Magee Spokesmen.

In the championship game, the Titans faced a determined opponent in a close contest. Holding a narrow 32–30 lead after three quarters, they turned up the pressure in the final period. By moving the ball inside, capitalizing on scoring opportunities, and staying composed at the free-throw line, the Titans pulled away to secure the championship.

It was a hard-fought win that reflected the team's perseverance and ability to come together when it mattered most. From the opening games to the final buzzer, the Titans showed what it means to compete, support one another, and keep pushing toward a shared goal.

Celebrating Our Championship MVPs

This championship belongs to the entire team, and we're especially proud to celebrate two Titans who earned individual recognition for their performances on the national stage.

Christopher Soran — Championship Game MVP

Christopher Soran was named the Division III Championship Game MVP after delivering a standout performance when the stakes were highest. He led the Titans with 14 points and added four rebounds, helping power the team to its national title.

For Soran, the championship was about more than one game. After 17 years in wheelchair basketball, earning a national title was a long-awaited milestone. His dedication to the Titans and his love for the team made this achievement all the more meaningful. Congratulations, Christopher, on an outstanding performance and a well-earned honor!

Nicholas Weiss — First Team All-Tournament

Nicholas Weiss also earned well-deserved recognition, being named to the Division III First Team All-Tournament. Weiss contributed 11 points and five rebounds in the championship game, playing an important role in the Titans' victory.

His performance throughout the tournament helped the Titans make their championship run, and this recognition is a wonderful acknowledgment of his impact on the court. Congratulations, Nicholas!

These individual honors highlight the talent and dedication within the Titans organization, while the championship itself reflects the collective effort of every athlete who contributed to the team's success.

More Than a Championship

Winning a national title is an incredible accomplishment, but the impact of wheelchair basketball goes beyond the scoreboard. It's about developing skills, building confidence, challenging yourself, and finding a community of people who encourage you to keep going.

The Titans bring together athletes from different backgrounds and walks of life, united by their love of the game. Through practices, tournaments, and the work it takes to compete at a national level, teammates build relationships and learn to rely on one another both on and off the court.

That sense of connection is at the heart of Rainier Adaptive Sports. We believe everyone deserves opportunities to participate, compete, grow, and experience the power of being part of a team. The Titans' championship is a celebration of what can happen when athletes have the opportunity to pursue their goals and a community that stands behind them.

Congratulations, Titans!

We're incredibly proud of the Tacoma Titans for bringing home the 2026 NWBA Division III National Championship. Congratulations to Christopher Soran, Nicholas Weiss, and every athlete, coach, and supporter who helped make this season one to remember.

Thank you to everyone who supports Rainier Adaptive Sports and helps make opportunities like this possible. Our community is what makes this work meaningful, and we're grateful to everyone who cheers on our athletes, supports our programs, and believes in the power of adaptive sports.

The Titans are national champions, and we're proud to celebrate this milestone with them. Way to go, Titans!
