Celebrating Parker Ayers: 2025 Disability Advocate Award Recipient

We’re proud to celebrate Parker Ayers, recipient of Tacoma’s City of Destiny 2025 Disability Advocate Award!

Parker has spent more than 20 years coaching wheelchair basketball in Tacoma and advocating for athletes with disabilities. As a founder of Rainier Adaptive Sports, he has dedicated countless volunteer hours to coaching, supporting athletes, and helping create opportunities for people to participate in adaptive sports.

His impact goes far beyond the basketball court. Through years of volunteering and advocacy, Parker has helped build a community where athletes can develop their skills, compete, connect with others, and experience the joy of being part of a team.

That kind of commitment takes time, energy, and a genuine belief in what people can accomplish when they have the right opportunities and support. Parker has continued to show up for athletes and the adaptive sports community year after year.

The Disability Advocate Award is a meaningful recognition of the work Parker has put into making Tacoma a more inclusive community. We’re grateful for his dedication and proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor.

On June 26, 2025, Parker Ayers was honored with the City of Destiny Disability Advocate Award in recognition of his leadership in adaptive sports and commitment to inclusive recreation opportunities.

Congratulations, Parker! Thank you for everything you do for Rainier Adaptive Sports and the athletes you support. We’re lucky to have you in our corner!
