Rainier Adaptive Sports Joins UW Recreation for “Changing the Game”

What a Saturday! Rainier Adaptive Sports was excited to join UW Recreation for its “Changing the Game” event during NBA All-Star Weekend, bringing wheelchair basketball to University of Washington students.

Our junior and adult Titans showed off their skills on the court and invited UW students to give wheelchair basketball a try. It was a fun opportunity to introduce more people to adaptive sports, build awareness, and share the excitement of the game.

The event also highlighted UW’s efforts to expand adaptive recreation and create more opportunities for students with disabilities to participate in sports. Building these programs can help make collegiate recreation more inclusive while opening doors for athletes to compete, connect, and thrive.

We’re excited about the impact this program could have regionally, nationally, and internationally. We applaud UW Recreation for its vision, hard work, and commitment to advancing adaptive sports. We’re proud to be part of a community working together to make sports more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

A big thank-you to UW Recreation for the invitation and continued support of adaptive sports in the Pacific Northwest. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Go Dawgs!
